Whenever we navigate to a new page, the whole page gets refreshed and recreated, even when half of it didn't change a thing, for instance, the menu, topbar, and the notifications WebSocket connection, which in my opinion doesn't provide a smooth experience.

Linux OS Hardening is an increasingly important topic and OpenSCAP can help us. scap-workbench was a GUI tool to simplify the usage of OpenSCAP but has been archived. Cockpit is a web-based graphical interface to manage Linux machine available for the main distributions. Provide a Cockpit application to simplify the usage of OpenSCAP could be very useful.

This is a project to create a "larp" game for SUSE employees (or anyone geeky enough to play this) which will be based on computer related knowledge. The core of the game is to search for other people and clues for solving the main goal by "connecting" or "hacking" according to given HW and SW roles. E.g. a person will play router, another one will play PC and they will need to find a person playing TCP/IP protocol to communicate and eventually create a working setup to solve the goal. They they need to work as a group and solve riddles/ciphers which will let them go further. There are more game mechanics i have in mind, but don't want to spoil all of them now :)

There are plenty of old games that were compiled for Linux - particularly in Loki times around 2000.

Let's dust off our Amigas, hook up our mice and joysticks, and see what elegant software and hardware could do back in the 80s and 90s!

I have a Canon PowerShot S120, which allows for browsing / copying photos over WiFi. There are apps for Android, iOS, and Windows to do that. The protocol uses upnp to discover the camera and the smartphone/computer and them some HTTP-based protocol. I have some code using libupnp for the discovery and a perl script that is capable of transfering one file, but it's far from complete. Plus, I need to refresh my memory, because the last commit is from January :-(. Now, there seems to be some support for such cameras in gphoto already. So the plan is to dive into gphoto and use what I learned about the protocol to fix the gphoto support.

I have noticed that explaining HA cluster concepts to non technical people is not easy (my parents for example hehe). In order to improve that I would like to create a more visual project using raspberry pi-s.

This tool is used to create users in SUSE Manager Server based on LDAP/AD groups. For each LDAP/AD group a role within SUSE Manager Server is defined.

GNOME is important to openSUSE and other distributions. I would like to help with the translation of GNOME. Mainly, the focus will be on the chinese (zh_CN) translation of GNOME 3.22 and 3.24 user interface.

The idea for Hack Week is to add new features to qubesome. qubesome is a CLI that manages your window managers and workloads in a GitOps manner. Each profile is executed under its own container, with its own xorg display. This enables having awesomewm running for a profile while having i3 for another, for example, both running in parallel.
