Scalability improvement for running tiedot database on SMP systems

an invention by guohouzuo

tiedot is a general purpose, document database engine designed for both embeddable usage and running stand-alone DB server, implemented in Go. Despite the effort of partitioning collection data and indexes, a single tiedot process still cannot scale beyond 4 CPU cores due to limitations of both data structure and Go runtime. Last year, an attempt began to partition data across multiple tiedot processes, and use IPC for communication and database logics. Initial benchmarks show promising scalability improvement using the new implementation. So let us complete the new implementation together, to bring the most scalable & embeddable DB engine for Go programs!

Docker registry UI in Go and ReactJS

a project by tboerger

I would like to continue to work on a web UI for the Docker registry. I know we already got Portus which is based on Ruby on Rails, but I would prefer a project based on Golang with a singlepage application for the frontend based on RactJS. So because of the singlepage application we are forced to write proper APIs that gets consumed by the javascript application, beside that I also want to add a CLI client for managing the system. You can find the project at https://github.com/harborapp.

minima: small, easy alternative to SUSE Manager (in Go)

a project by moio

1% of SUSE Manager's functionality in 0.1% of the lines of code

Let's create a much simpler SUSE Manager — one you could use at home! Users should be able to deploy and operate in minutes with minimal configuration, while still retaining the very core features that make SUSE Manager useful!

Create a web application for configuring laitos - your "Do Everything" software for serious preppers

a project by guohouzuo

Laitos is an open source project written in go, it emphasizes simplicity of maintenance and delivers a complete suite of web, DNS, and mail servers to host a personal web server. Beyond the suite of servers, laitos software hooks into numerous API platforms, that altogether enable user access to Internet features (such as Facebook, Twitter, emails) via alternative communication infrastructures such as telephone (PSTN), SMS, and satellite terminals. For added fun, laitos software enables nostalgic computer systems (such as Windows 98 and DOS) to access modern web by rendering web sites on laitos server, and provides web page interactions via text commands and screenshots.

Tools to make keysigning fun again (replacement for caff)

an idea by kbabioch

There is a tool called caff, which is the de-facto standard when dealing with keysigning (on a large scale, e.g. after a key signing party). This tool hasn't been touch in years, is written and configured in Perl (hence cannot be read and/or maintained ) and is not easy to package, because of a lot of dependencies, etc. It is not even available in our default repositories (at least for Tumbleweed). In general there seems to be a certain kind of frustration with this software, but there is no real alternative available yet. Ideally the new toolset should allow to organize a complete keysigning party, e.g. it should assist the organizer with:
