An initial prototype from the last hackweek can be found on YouTube

Some may know the reality TV show shark tank where entrepreneurs pitch their startup ideas to get an investment. There is a German franchise of this show called "Höhle der Löwen".

In the current season there was one idea to create a time tracking device, basically a eight-sided cube (Oktaeder) depending on how the cube is placed it will record what you're currently doing (e.g. working on Product A, working on Produkt B...). The action the cube tracks are configurable.

My idea is to build a similar cube based on RFID chips and an RFID reader. The time tracking app will be a Ruby on Rails application with a React frontend. To make this a realtime app I will try to use the new ActionCable feature of RoR.
