Climbing Ticklist

an invention by j_renner

Ticklist is a web application enabling users to record their ascents of climbing routes as well as to maintain their personal list of currently projected routes. My implementation went from working alpha back to pre-alpha status (~ basic things not working) while migrating parts of the codebase (knockout.js -> angular.js). The goal of this hackweek project was therefore to finish this migration and fix the basic features in order to make the app useful at least for personal usage. The current technology stack is node, express, sequelize, jade (templating), angular and twitter bootstrap. Lots of future features come to my mind, like showing advanced statistics, integration with social networks, support bouldering ticklists as well, location based stuff, and so on.

Video presence system for distributed teams

a project by ancorgs

Those working remotely or managing a distributed team know it: face time is invaluable. The former openSUSE team has been using http://sqwiggle.com to keep in touch and Google hangout to hold a stand up meeting every morning. We like the Sqwiggle approach. Although the last updates have made it worse, the concept of having a peep to your colleagues' desks to know if they are there (even if they are working hard or just talking to someone) and the possibility of starting a video conversation just clicking on the face shot can do a lot in reducing distances (and in killing the temptation of working naked for home-officers).

Bugzilla Sync for Taiga

an idea by suntorytimed

What is Taiga? On the first view Taiga (taiga.io) is a open source Trello replacement. On the second it is way more than that. Taiga does offer a lot more integration into Scrum and Kanban Workflow than Trello could ever do (even if you would pay for all those neat power-ups). Taiga is offered as hosted and self-hosted (as it is completely open source) and does offer all features in payed and free accounts on the hosted solution. Unlike tools like Gitlab where there are premium features that are held back for the enterprise offering this tool is developed in the open (https://github.com/taigaio).
