Description
jigdo, or Jigsaw Download is a tool, mostly popular in Debian-land, to obtain installation ISO images by composing them from some specific metadata files (*.jigdo, *.template files) and binary packages obtained from mirrors, older media and so on.
The goal of this hack week project is to write a prototype of a similar tool, but for rootfs trees and, potentially, filesystem images.
Goals
- Initial prototype reproducing an already-built filesystem tree from .rpm packages (with no chroot and package manager execution)
- Have some preliminary file format defined for the metadata
- Try to reproduce filesystem images as well. Perhaps try EROFS.
Stretch Goals
- .deb/APT support
