Description

I have a couple of RPis and an Nvidia Jetson Nano serving various purposes around my home. One of the Pis is acting as a boot and rootfs server, while the Nano is hosting Immich for family photos. Since the official support of the Nano had ended several years ago I had to figure out how to install a newer 6.1.x kernel (compared to the 4.x series which was supported back then). That challenge was solved a few weeks prior Hackweek. I got no CUDA support yet. No big deal for me, just now.

Goals

I have two goals for this week.

  1. I used to have Open Hub running on one of the Pis. Time has come to try Home Assistant, aka HA. It's going to be a hacked HA, as I prefer using my own ways of booting and providing root fs over the network, while I don't want to loose updates when they are released from upstream.

  2. I will also add another Pi to the mix which will observe movements around the car shed. This will also boot over the network and will trigger alarms when something moves.
