OBS Studio for noobs

OBS studio is free and open source software for video recording and live streaming.

As SUSE Ambassador I do a lot of video creation and editing. As Open Source Ambassador I prefer to work with (F)OSS instead of some proprietary standards in the market.

During Hack Week I want to find out if OBS Studio (possibly in combination with other (F)OSS software can do the job for me. At this moment I am a noob in this area. I have a lot of experience working with a proprietary app called 'InShot'. This works perfectly for what I wanted till today. InShot works only from an app, direct on your mobile device. Going forward I'll need to learn to use an other tool(s).

      I have some decent experience with OBS Studio, I use it for doing better webinars and recording training material without having to do a large amount of editing. I'm happy to provide any info I can, I'll also probably have a hackweek project about playing with some of the more advanced features to do Video Synth like stuff.
