Leveraging Ceph in the Harvester project

Project Description

The Harvester project currently uses Longhorn as its underlying storage. Trying to use Ceph as alternative storage should be fun.

As a new developer in the Harvester project, making this happen can increase my knowledge of the project. It also helps me understand the tradeoff between different storages.

Goal for this Hackweek

To provision VMs on Ceph storage (preferred RBD) from Harvester GUI.

  • Start with APP mode.
  • Deploy Rook chart.
  • Make needed changes to the Harvester code.
