Learn to speak, read and write German

My German reading and speaking skills suck. I've forgotten everything except "Mehr Bier, bitte". A week of intensive immersion ought to enable me to order food as well. And converse with my German team members. Especially when we go out for meals and drinks.

This should have a concrete goal, so I will write a short story in German to demonstrate my amazing new fluency*.

Das ist meine Kurzgeschichte auf Deutsch. Das ist eine sehr kurze Geschichte, weil mein Gehirn mehr als fünf Tage braucht, um etwas Neues zu lernen.

Ich kann zu zehn zählen: eins, zwei, drei, vier, fünf, sechs, sieben, acht, neun, und zehn.

Hallo, wie geht es dir? Ein halben Liter Stout, bitte. Ich hätte der Nachtisch, bitte.

Ich möchte vier Blue Man Group Tickets, bitte.

Wann fährt der letzte Zug nach München? Wo ist die Toilette?

      According to Duolingo, I'm 18% fluent in German, but I don't believe it.

      I've finished the Duolingo German tree and made it golden! Says I'm at 68% fluency.

      This hackweek, I'll use duolingo stories to help me improve my listening comprehension.
