Project Description / Overview: I have developed a Bash script that helps dog owners determine which foods are safe for their dogs to eat. The script currently takes a food item as input and returns whether it is safe, unsafe, or should be given in moderation. I have started creating an Android app that will provide a mobile-friendly interface for this functionality, making it easier for users to quickly check foods while on the go.
Goals to Achieve by the End of Hack Week:
Complete the Android app frontend and integrate it with the existing Bash script logic.
Implement a simple database or JSON file to store food items and safety information.
Add a user-friendly search interface and basic error handling in the app.
Optionally, include features like “Favorites” or “Recently Checked Foods” for better user experience.
Collaboration & Skills Needed:
Android development experience (Kotlin/Java, Android Studio) to help with the app UI/UX and app logic integration.
Knowledge of scripting or lightweight server backends (optional) if we want to offload the Bash logic to a small API.
Design input for simple, intuitive mobile UI.
