The idea is to produce a standalone, independent tool to save and restore windows positions and sizes, analogous to a similar feature in KDE desktop. This would be handy in various lightweight desktop enviroments.

Extended idea is to restore as much as possibly complete application state, i.e. its memory mappings, sockets, etc. Potential principal problems and existing projects aiming to solve this problem will be evaluated, e.g. CRIU, cryopid and others.

      The KDE one is named "session manager", so that could also be a name for this nice project - when I first saw the title, I thought it was about screen savers :-) .

        yes, I tried to avoid terms like 'session' or 'manager', because they seemed to me too overloaded :) I could have probably come up with something more appropriate, but the project name cannot be changed anyway..
