bs-update simplifies package updates in BuildService, targeting mainly people who are both upstream and package maintainers.

bs-update needs better support for package changelogs, ability to not just update but also create packages, and better error reporting.

      Have you looked at OBS service? It seems that here you are just reinventing wheel. (see https://github.com/openSUSE/obs-service-setversion and example of usage - https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/devel:tools/syzkaller)
