What is Openspace? Starting on Kickstarter and Indiegogo as Openbook Open Source Social Networking Service got recently renamed to Openspace (still reachable via openbook.social though). This network wants to protect its users privacy and make the world of SNS a better place.

What do we need a desktop application for? This desktop application wraps the Android and iOS app for Openspace. There currently is no web version as the network is still in Alpha and focuses on mobile first. With the awaited start of Beta in June 2019 this could change but till then there is no other way to access the SNS apart of this application. Luckily it already is available for Windows, MacOS and Linux.
