The idea is getting a general knowledge of how QT Linguist works, and help FET with some translations.

FET is a timetable creator, that is available for openSUSE at https://en.opensuse.org/FET, and allows a user to create a timetable, usually for educational institutions, with a lot of different available constraints.

It saved my day 10 months ago, so I plan to learn QT Linguist to improve the Spanish translation and maybe part of the Russian translation.

For reference, if you want to request to be a maintainer for a language, or collaborate with an existing one, go to: https://lalescu.ro/liviu/fet/forum/index.php?board=13.0

I also discovered that a lot of contexts are using checks that IMHO should be a function instead of the same repeated several times (somehow, I am not sure how to handle it)

For example this code:

if(weight<0.0 || weight>100.0){
    QMessageBox::warning(this, tr("FET information"),
        tr("Invalid weight (percentage)"));
    return;
}
if(weight!=100.0){
    QMessageBox::warning(this, tr("FET information"),
        tr("Invalid weight (percentage) - it must be 100%"));
    return;
}

That is present at ~100 contexts and generating the same source texts.
