I am learning Linux kernel for some time. In order to understand how kernel works, I read the code based on version 0.12 and do some hands on in VM. I will continue and hope understand more in the concentrated time of hackweek.

Because I created this project at the very beginning, want to add more to do to understand kernel knowledge.
I am reading two books about Linux device driver:

It's easy to understand and do some practice. And I will focus on IO part especially char device and block devices.
At the same time, I will try to research more monitor tools about IO. -

I've never tried anything like this. But if you wanted to run that old kernel my guess is that the current versions of userspace tools would not work. I guess installing SLES 11 or SLES 10 could get you a decent starting point.
