Description

I am learning Linux kernel for some time. In order to understand how kernel works, I read the code based on version 0.12 and do some hands on in VM. I will continue and hope understand more in the concentrated time of hackweek.

Goals

Read the Linux kernel 0.12 code and hands on

Because I created this project at the very beginning, want to add more to do to understand kernel knowledge.
I am reading two books about Linux device driver:
      <> <>
It's easy to understand and do some practice. And I will focus on IO part especially char device and block devices.
At the same time, I will try to research more monitor tools about IO.

I've never tried anything like this. But if you wanted to run that old kernel my guess is that the current versions of userspace tools would not work. I guess installing SLES 11 or SLES 10 could get you a decent starting point.
