Description
There is a new netlink library in util-linux. It currently supports IP address monitoring that works properly as long as all addresses are removed from the interfaces before switching it down. The current implementation does not monitor interface up/down changes. Only RTM_*ADDR messages are currently supported, but interface up/down is sent under RTM_*ADDR messages.
Goals
Implement handler for RTM_*ADDR. Handle IFF_UP signal change. Support for exclusion of addresses for interfaces that are down.
Resources
No special resources are needed. Just the netlink documentation and util-linux netlink documentation.
