Description

In suse leap's grub menu, if I choose "Start bootloader from a read-only snapshot," I will see each snapshot's OS version and kernel version, but I cannot see this information using the snapper or btrfs commands. This project aims to enhance the Snapper command-line tool by displaying kernel and OS release versions with each snapshot, improving usability by providing quick access to system environment information. As we transition from YaST to Cockpit on SLE16, we may also enhance the Cockpit interface to display this info.

Goals

• Add kernel and OS version information to Snapper.
• Update the Cockpit interface to display this info.
• Create documentation.
