Description
xboard is a graphical user interface for chess in all its major forms, including international chess, xiangqi (Chinese chess), shogi (Japanese chess) and Makruk, in addition to many minor variants such as Losers Chess, Crazyhouse, Chess960 and Capablanca Chess.
It has barely been converted to use Gtk2 and it never made it to Gtk3 world and it has been mostly abandoned for the last ten years.
Goals
- to make the program building with the current tools
- to port it to the current Gtk possibly even with Wayland support

current code is originally from https://savannah.gnu.org/projects/xboard (Git and some patches which need to be investigated for suitability), Debian patches at https://sources.debian.org/src/xboard/4.9.1-3.1/debian, my early attempts at https://git.sr.ht/~mcepl/xboard
