Description

This Hackweek project directly addresses a critical finding from our latest SUSE documentation survey: an overwhelming majority of our readers requested additional multimedia content (specifically instructional videos and audio summaries/podcasts) to complement our extensive technical documentation. While AI has transformed text generation, the current state of AI-driven creation of high-quality, technically accurate video content remains highly limited and often struggles with complex step-by-step procedures and detailed narration. In addition, we need to ensure our branding policy is also followed in multimedia content. The plan is to test the candidate tools to determine which ones generate output that meets the quality and technical accuracy standards necessary for eventual publication, pending human review.

Goals

The primary objective of this Hackweek project is to move beyond simple feasibility and identify and validate a set of specific AI media creation platforms capable of reliably producing usable media content (videos and audio) from our existing technical documentation. The goal is not to establish a definitive, production-ready workflow; rather, it is to provide an evidence-based recommendation on effective tools for a "quick and easy" but technically accurate media content production.

Resources

Platforms to be Explored: We plan to check out and compare the capabilities of several free and accessible AI media creation platforms for generating, editing, and narrating technical guides: - Generative Models: Gemini, Sora, and Veo 3 (or similar leading-edge audio and video generation AI) will be tested for their ability to interpret and visualize complex technical concepts. - Production Tools: AI-enhanced editing and production platforms like Camtasia.ai and CapCut will be evaluated for their features in automating screen capture integration, narration sync, and subtitling. - Other tools??

Disclaimer: All content (technical documentation) used for testing the tools is already publicly and freely available. Thus, we are not using any sensible content.
