MCP Server for Futmondo Fantasy Football in Elixir

At SUSE, I work on Trento where we use Elixir and have recently built MCP integrations, but I am totally ignorant about both things. I play Futmondo fantasy football with friends, and we're constantly asking questions like "which cheap striker is in form?" or "should I trade this player?". This gave me the idea to deepen my MCP and Elixir knowledge by building a server that lets AI assistants help with these decisions by connecting directly to Futmondo's API.

This project lets me explore MCP implementation patterns outside our production codebase while learning more about Elixir in a fun context. My friends will act as real-world testers, providing feedback on the AI-assisted fantasy football experience.

Goals: - Implement an MCP server in Elixir from scratch - Create HTTP client for Futmondo API with authentication and rate limiting - Expose tools for player search, stats analysis, and lineup optimization

Tech Stack: Elixir, MCP protocol, Futmondo API integration

Why This Matters: - Hands-on experience with MCP in a greenfield project - Real users (my fantasy league) testing a practical AI integration - Transfer knowledge between Trento's MCP work and personal projects - Learn Elixir patterns in a different problem space
