Description

I keep piling up texts for songs on Microsoft drive, because initally I found it convenient to be able to write texts in word 360 then get it auto-saved, even if I'm exiting the tram or something. However, I've never been keen on giving away my data to MS, and became increasingly frustrated by the "smart" features of MS drive that regularly make my older files difficult to find or become temporarily inaccessible. In parallel, I record melodies that randomly come to me on my Android phone. Those get auto-uploaded to google cloud... Same story here. Then, some melodies fit with certain texts, and I need to manually sync all of that. For the past 2 years I didn't really have time for that, having a baby at home who happens to be much more interesting than file synchronizations (even between clouds) but also very much time-demanding. On top of it, while these platforms make it possible to share files, these are not really made for it.

Goals

1- Figure out a better way to organize all that mess. I will try to see if some service that would help me better already exists that would fit better than google or MS cloud while offering the same advantages, or, find a place to host it myself and create my own custom solution. This would likely not be finished during the hack week though. 2 - Also, create a space to share songs that I consider ready for sharing, eg a simple web page.

Resources

Coffee and a bit of electricity for my laptop. Oh and my laptop. And a chair. That should do.
