Supportconfigs are huge blob of text which we are asked to examine and deduce issues from.

Sometimes the solution to a problem is quite simple.

  • Changed settings that shouldn't be made
  • Typo in values

Finding those things can be quite cumbersome. An easy solution to this problem would be to have a tiny tool that requires two items:

  • an initial state of the system; basically a default supportconfig (with the default values we ship)
  • a current supportconfig from the customer

Now we can create a diff of files/values that were changed, which may lead us to the root cause quicker.
