Research Interfacing Linux with: - 1-wire and other weather sensors (temperature, wind, humidity, rain) - Security camera monitoring - Power controllers for lights and appliances

I have the goal of using Linux to log climate data (both indoors and outdoors), capture security camera footage, and control some of my lights and appliances.

For example, when I wake up I want espresso immediately, but the machine takes time to warm up. Find a way to turn it on from bed. Another example relates to my basement lights, which the kids constantly leave on. Set up a timer to turn them off after 1 hour, and enable turning them on from upstairs in case the 2 year old wants to go into that room.

Push climate data to an online weather station, https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KCOFORTC310

Here is some code I wrote to scrape weather data from a weather station: https://github.com/epende/wx_scraper
