There are number of approaches but nothing landed for a long time "version calculation" issues and PRs.
The goal is it to find solution that would satisfy all request.
Or/and rebase PR #114 to the latest refactored version for obs-service-tar_scm (that is actually was not landed but is built for openSUSE:Tools). So it could land and probably just works for majority.
