I've got a nexus 5 to my disposal, would like to have maybe openSUSE running on it.

Can I get some pointers on how to do this?

P.S. Don't have knowledge of ARM or how to boot openSUSE on ARM, at all.

Only thing I know is that it is possible to install Linux on an Android device in chroot. There are Linux installers available in the playstore. Then you need a Linux distribution built for your hardware to install. That's all I know at that point. But feel free to add what you can find out. ;-)

I have my Nexus 7 here in the office, a 2013 (Wifi) device. Just rooted it, installed Clockwork recovery and now I am heading forward to CM12. Any clue how to get suse on it? I'm in Nürnberg...

CM12 is running. And it's fast. OMG. So much faster than Lollipop.
