Description

During this Hackweek, I will spend one week exploring and learning MCP (Model Context Protocol) and building a simple Proof of Concept (PoC) that demonstrates how tools or services can communicate with an AI model using this protocol. I will integrate Playwright to automate simple browser interactions as part of the experimentation. The focus will be practical, lightweight, and aimed at delivering a functional prototype.

Goals

Objectives

-Understand the fundamentals of MCP: architecture, components, message flow, and how “tools” are defined.

-Set up a functional environment with a local MCP server and a client capable of interacting with an AI model.

-Create a basic MCP “tool” capable of performing one or two simple tasks related to a system resource.

-Integrate Playwright to build a tool that can execute simple browser automation tasks (e.g., navigate to a webpage, extract a title, take a screenshot).

-Build a small PoC that connects this tool with an MCP assistant to demonstrate end-to-end interaction.

Expected Outcome A functional and demonstrable prototype where an MCP-enabled assistant can invoke a custom tool and execute basic tasks.
