Inspired by this project I spent yesterday some hours and found at least 10 different ways how to make a non-bootable kernel. This morning I finally found one that worked add-emoji and now I have a VM running Tumbleweed with the latest stable vanilla kernel 5.18.7. If anybody is interested in details let me know.
