While in general everything still works, the current (patached/extended) planet installation behind planet.opensuse.org is a bit outdated and not maintained any more.

The initial plan is to:

  • find current upstream source
  • create a package from it
  • install this package on a testing server
  • migrate the current configuration/setup
  • rework the layout of planet.opensuse.org
  • revive planet.opensuse.org

Looks like venus is the new planet.

      • create a package from it

Initial package 'venus' is in home:lrupp now. Currently I'm at patch number 5 - and still counting. So far I did not even find the time to test the package itself. Currently lacking in the package:

      • apache snipplet (best might be to define a vhost)
      • cronjob
