openSUSE Leap / TW / MicroOS / Kubic running on Freebox Delta

French ISP Free is providing a xDSL / Fiber modem, which includes a lot of features, including integrated NAS support and, more recently, allowing to run your own VMs (https://dev.freebox.fr/blog/?p=5450 sorry, in french)

Those VMs needs to run as aarch64 guests and might requires some adaptions for easy install with the modem webUI (cloud-init support, etc).

I'd like to ensure our various openSUSE images flavors could run 'out of the box' on this platform (I might even get it integrated in the default lists of VM on the modem UI).

As a second step, I'd like to experiment on how to move some of my workload from my NAS and my own server to this system, using MicroOS (or Kubic) and containers (I know nothing about containers these days).

      First success: openSUSE Leap 15.1 aarch64 EFI installer boots fine (you need to give around 700MB memory to start it) and I was able to install a transactional server easily.

      Second success: "JeOS" aarch64 port image of openSUSE Leap 15.1 works fine (after uncompressing it), with the default memory requirement. But this image is lacking cloud-init and is designed to run on baremetal, not VMs (too much stuff it in).

      Final words on this project: openSUSE Leap 15.2 JeOS is now part of the pre-installed images available for any users of VM on Freebox Delta, ISP has integrated it today. It also features cloud-init integration.
