The first challenge is to be to build all the branches with the SLE12 toolchain, so that we do not waste time setting up a chroot for each branch.

The relevant kernel trees build with the SLE12 toolchain. Now trying to get them boot in qemu with a SLE12-generated initramfs

I have a simple boot test that works with SLE11-SP2 and later. The tests are only ran during the automatic merges, though, not on every push.

BTW, the boottest is here, if somebody would like to improve it https://gitlab.suse.de/kernel/kbuild/blob/master/bin/boottest-kernel

What is badly needed is creating an emulated sata disk with a filesystem on it and mounting it in the vm.
